Work in Progress.
Daddy: Whatrudo? (That’s code for “What are you doing” in our household)
Me: Being a house wife; cooking yer dinner.
Daddy: nice. does it feel weird? Like breathing water or something?
Your daddy gives me such a hard time about my wifely duties, but I’m working on it. I’m seriously spoiled people. He works really hard. I mean, really really hard at work all...
Accept it. Just accept it.
Why can’t I just accept that I’m truly having symptoms? I keep playing mind tricks and convince myself that it’s because of something else. I think it’s only natural to go through what we have and to be in denial, but get with it! Is this really happening?!
I’m 6 weeks and 4 days (but who’s counting) and for some reason I keep psyching myself out. We just...
Today has been a day of relaxation, no television, opening the windows and breathing in the sticky but refreshing rainy North Carolina air. Today I have been lucky enough to sit in silence and listen to the dripping of the rain on the windows and the thunder slowly beating louder and louder as it approaches. The only disturbance is Koda’s deep breaths of anxiety as she hates thunder.

wheremygreengrassgrows asked: “I really enjoyed reading your post. Very imformative for those of us who haven’t had those struggles and need to be reminded that it isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. I was wondering if you know why it is that so many you women our age are dealing with this. Is there any research about what may cause it or is it just something you are...
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
I wanted to write a bit about this topic as I have received many emails from ladies who suffer with PCOS. It’s weird, because several readers have emailed telling me that I am the first person they have ever “met” with PCOS. There must be something in the water in NC, because I cannot even count on both hands how many women I know that have this condition. PCOS affects 1...

IN THE OVEN! I went to the doctors for blood work and got a call that my levels are at 3,897! Now, Ms. Carla told me more than once that they no longer keep track of my levels but it does indeed mean that I am still pregnant!
Yeah I know, I’m neurotic, but let me tell you, if I’m going to spend all that money then you better believe I’m going to take full advantage of my...

These videos crack me up! (And, make me cry a little.) Enjoy!
Tell me about it!!!
Anonymous ask: Hi Kristen! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m so happy for you! I’ve been really enjoying reading your blog (which I found via Melissa’s DearBaby and WithoutMelissa.com). I know nothing about infertility and InVitro, so I apologize if this is an epicly stupid question, but you keep mentioning “baby(ies)” …is there a good chance...
Names Names Names...I know your name(s).
(Your Great Grandma Betty burping your big cousin Hayes. And man did he let it out!)
We have names, da da da, we have names, hee ho hee. OK, that was really pathetic but I just feel like danicng and singing because we have come up with some darling little names for you poppy seed(s). We have 3 girl names and 1 boy name set in stone. We’ll have to go back to the drawing board if we...
Call me Crazy.
But I cannot WAIT to start feeling sick. Both my mom and sister suffered with really bad nausea during their pregnancies….I want to feel that because then it will feel real! I want to be able to tell someone that I feel like crap and I’m sleepy and it takes everything for me not to want to eat all day. I long for that feeling.
I’m sure you other “infertiles” will...
My vow to you.
Let me just tell you about the BEST friggin night…
Yesterday your Aunt Jayne called me with the greatest news ever—she had 2 FREE tickets to go see Lady Gaga!!! You can always say that your very first concert was before you were even born.
Some may feel that Lady Gaga is a little over the top, but this southern gal loves everything that she stands for: equality, human rights,...
Baby Aspirin.
A few of you have asked why I’m on baby aspirin. I answered someone with incorrect information and wanted to correct myself and also answer a few of you who have asked. I gathered my information from this site and paraphrased below:

“Baby aspirin is an anticoagulant; it keeps blood from clotting excessively. It can help...
The mailman? And beta levels.
Even the mailman knows about you!! I was walking out to my friends car last night and the mailman yells from his car, “I hear a congratulations is in order!” I replied, “Thank you, how did you know?” Apparently our neighbor that I hadn’t even told yet, told him. That’s how it works in NC, everyone is a friend.
All I can really do is laugh. I’m...
Flirting with cheating.
We have been flirting with the idea of cheating and taking a test since last night. Every time I have to pee I say “Ooohhh, I have to go. Should I take one?” Then we both stare at eachother and grin with this almost happy but at the same time terrified look. Then there’s a sigh somewhere in the middle and one of us talks the other out of it.
I think we’ve made up our...
Nesting makes you want a hamburger.
While nesting in my bed this HUGE urge to eat a hamburger and fries, oh and with a Dr. Pepper/Mr. Pibb of course, jolted through my body. I started to panic. ‘What do I do? I can’t get in the car and just drive to Cookout. Oh and if I go to Cookout then I have to get their peanut butter/banana milkshake. Hmmmm, I don’t think the doctor would be too happy about that. ...
True Story.
A little over 9 months ago my best friend Megan called me with very important news. She had a dream about me. I was pregnant with twins and they were boys. She said she could see me holding them and could even make out their faces.
Little did Megan know, your Aunt KK literally just told us within 48 hrs that she was pregnant. Immediately I thought of her but couldn’t tell Megan as I...
