I think we need to give this baby a class on, How to grow in your mama’s belly 101.
Somewhere along the road he/she has decided that instead of growing in my belly, he/she would rather grow in my booty, in my chest, in my cheeks, in my thighs and arms. Seriously, where are you belly?
PS- This picture doesn’t do the booty justice. Trust me. It’s packed in there.
Karma.
Last night I did something that I feel a little uneasy about. I even asked John what he thought later on, and his words, “I just wish you wouldn’t have done that.”
He gave me this disapproving look like, what were you thinking? And then of course, guilt set in. For those of you wondering, it’s really not that big of a deal, but I always try to think logically when...
I’m moving on up in the world.
“Yeah we’re moving on up, to the east side, we finally got a piece of the pie….”
Sorry had to add that. Many of you may not even know what I’m referring to. Moving on.
I officially have my own domain: www.ohhappymiracle.com!
Now I have to figure out how to customize this site on my own without asking my overworked, brilliant,...
Anonymous asked: On a non-pregnancy note..... What shampoo and conditioner do you use?!
Wouldn’t you know that I just posted about how I was giving up yummy goodness and my neighbor drops these off. Wouldn’t you know.
I’m not going to lie, there is a missing cupcake. I snatched a bite from John’s hands. I had to. But it was one bite.
<sigh> I just love having PCOS. I guess there are worse things…

PCOS and Diet by Mathra McKittrick →
This is a really good article on PCOS and suggestions for a healthy PCOS lifestyle and diet. I advise all my PCOS friends to take a look. It’s a good read.
I’ve noticed my sugar intake jump up several notches since I stopped my Metformin— I can also tell you this was a horrible idea. I realize how important it is to stay in control of my diet during this pregnancy, but for some...
Seriously Thankful.
I realize that I am blessed in so many ways.
I have a roof over my head. I have food on the table every day. I have friends who love me unconditionally. I have a family that supports my every decision. I have strangers, thanks to tumblr, who I can now call a friend. And I prayed for so long about something that I knew may never happen and guess what, I’m living that dream, I’m going...
Uwharrie National Forest
This past weekend I decided it would be a great idea to go camping in the middle of nowhere, 14 weeks pregnant. I know, I’m a genius. I’m not going to go into all the things that went wrong, because I just want to focus on the things that went right.
I got to spend quality “alone” time with my family.
John, The baby, Khloe and Koda. John mentioned going to the...
(View from our camp site at fourteen weeks pregnant)
Hello. Crazy lady here.
I have great news. I’m officially crazy and all of you can tell me “I told ya so.”
Luckily today was my first ultrasound with my normal OBGYN. I literally felt sick all night and all morning. Partly from making myself sick and partly from, you guessed it, nausea. “Hello Nausea,...
Five years ago today.
Five years ago today your dada and I went on our first date and we’ve been two peas in a pod ever since.
This time of year is always sentimental to me for one reason, and one reason only— I fell in love with a man that I never knew existed. You know, the kind of man that wants to protect, comfort, take care of, support, and love you unconditionally, kind of man— and I...
Pregnancy is scary.
1- I’ve been having withdrawals from not having weekly visits to see my RE. Not seeing the baby has really made it difficult to accept that everything is ok. I’ve had this worry in the pit of my stomach, completely convinced that something’s not right.
2- Saturday night I was laying down in the tent and pushed my foot down to pull my body up. As soon as I put pressure on my...
For the record...
Fourteen weeks pregnant, no air mattress and it was 30ish degrees outside.
Mama gets major cool points for going camping last night. I think the pregnancy has literally made me lose my mind because this was my idea.

callherblessed asked: i just watched your most recent video :) glad to hear all is well!
I have a completely unrelated question for you:
What eyeliner do you use, I love it. I'm a huge fan of eyeliner and always looking for good ones. :) Thanks!

Where did you go?
“Ummm, <knock knock> hello nausea fairy, ya still in there? Where did you go?”
Seriously, this is so strange. I haven’t had any of you this week. And what’s even more strange is that I miss you. Whenever I was worried about being pregnant or not, you would jump right in and say, “hello, I’m still here…now TAKE THAT!” I kind of want you...
Beer on the brain.
The conversation of two brilliant ladies:
me: my sister gave me her breast pump so that’s a start. i think the brand is modela or something like that, so i have to buy things that go with that brand. Melissa: Modela is a beer isn’t it? hahahhaa Melissa: I think it’s probably Ameda? me: madela Melissa: hahahahahha me: no no no medela. i had to google it me: now let’s...
If you find our motivation, Koda, Khloe and I would like it back please.
Thanks,
~K
Note: I did not place Khloe on there, she loves her Koda Boda so much, that sometimes they just lay together… and if you’re lucky, on top of one another. Usually Khloe on top, because I think Koda would literally smush the little one.
That would be a very very bad thing. Very bad indeed.
Completely raw.
I never quite understood the whole blog world. “What? You just write about random thoughts? Why would anyone care? People don’t care what I have to say”.
But then infertility became a huge part of my life. For a while, infertility ran my life. I felt lonely, confused, angry, but mostly sad. John and I felt completely and utterly alone. I remember telling him that I was...
Anonymous asked: I'm a few weeks ahead of you and noticed you have two puppies. I have a 1 year old lab and noticed in the last few weeks she has been crazy cuddly more than normal and insists on resting her head on my belly. It got me thinking that maybe she can hear the baby's heart beat or knows something is going on. Have you noticed any changes in your dogs?
Red, Eggplant or Green?
This is the Amy Michelle- Gladiola Diaper Bag. Which color do you prefer? I’m digging this bag, but can’t seem to decide on the color. I watched a youtube video and it seems really appropriate in size, functionality and I like the look. There’s even a pocket on the outside to hold the changing pad, and the price is pretty reasonable— you’d be SHOCKED at how expensive...
13 w 2 days.
There’s a bump a brewing! Woooo Eeeeee. A lot of changes just in the past few days. It’s like I popped! I’m carrying low, so let me just tell you, I feel like I’m living in the bathroom. The little little must be sitting right on my bladder. I’m already up around 6 times a night to go to the bathroom. And I’m sure it’s only going to get worse…I...
Peg Perego Vela 2010 Stroller
Just curious if any of you have the Peg Perego Vela? Most of the reviews are great. I like that it’s lightweight, it comes with a car sear and the price is just right— more reasonable than my dream stroller, The UppaBaby. And honestly, I don’t think I can justify the price, even if it were a gift.
I read several reviews about the Vela and I did notice a few people...
Wow darling. You sure have made some changes this week— and mama has felt every one of them. This week you were medication free for the first time, and you have responded better than I could have imagined. You have reassured me the entire week that you are still there and plan on fighting right along with me. It’s amazing how much you have changed just in a few days.
My symptoms...
Getting my fitness on.
Things are looking up, mainly because I’m getting off my butt!
I have officially typed into my Outlook calendar, “Go for a walk. Think about what’s best for the baby.” I now have no excuse but to get up and get out of here! It is in the best interest of the baby and myself!
I used to workout 5 days a week. I had a schedule and lived by it. Working from home and being...
Tres Jolie: I am happy to announce.............. →
tres-jolie:
You may remember this little post that sparked quite a bit of interest from friends, bloggers and mommies alike. Since there seemed to be such a demand for those precious shoes (I mean, who doesn’t love shoes!?!?) we decided to open an Etsy shop to allow everyone the opportunity to purchase…
Ladies, jump on this now because I know there is going to be some amazing little...
Stretch Mark Prevention Cream?
I want to know what cream you swear by. What kept those icky stretch marks away!!?
I know it’s not a guarantee, but I need to purchase something soon.
Thanks!

UPDATE: Sounds like Palmer’s Cocoa Butter is the way to go. I also already have some bio oil.
Thanks for all of your comments ladies!!!
I begged for it.
12 week symptoms:
Remember how I kept saying I felt great and hardly had any symptoms? I think I spoke too soon. It’s like a light bulb just turned on and my body went, “Oh yeah, there’s a baby in there. Oh yeah.”
1- Nausea. Have you ever heard of someone getting nausea in their second trimester? The past 4-5 days I have felt like complete poop. It’s not intense,...
Anonymous asked: Hey there! Love your blog :) I follow you and think about you guys often. I found your blog through Melissa - she was in my sorority in college (which actually seems so strange now that either of us were in one). Anyway, I have a question. What happens at 12 wks? What are the things you will need to "cope" with? Just going off the meds all together and letting your body do the work on...
Must Have.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas onesie by thenook- Seriously, if we have a little girl, she will be rocking leggings ALL the time. And stripped, candy cane looking one’s?! I Diiiiieeeeeee.
Heirloom alphabet by maternalNEST- Once again, another reminder of my childhood and all the one of a kind toys I played with. I will definitely ask for some of these. No plastic please!...
Confession.
I know people don’t care about my eating habits, but I may or may not have just licked my plate.
As I reflect on this, I completely blame the baby. Yup. It’s the baby’s fault. I mean, why waste it, that extra lick could have gone straight to the baby, right?

I'm just different.
I’m different. Everything is different. I look different. My personality is different. I’m scared. I’m happy. I’m nauseous. I’m irritable.
I’m just, you know, different.
It’s weird. Lately I feel out of sorts. I’m so happy….so so so happy. But I cannot deny that things aren’t the same. And never will be again. I’m having a...
Deadwood.
Yeeee Hawwwww. That pretty much sums up our Saturday night.
This weekend your dada and I traveled to good ‘ol Lil’ Washington, NC to see his family. It was your grandpa’s 60th birthday, so we wanted to celebrate like any cowboy and cowgirl would do and go to Bear Grass, NC, to Deadwood.
We’ve visited Deadwood quite a few times— in fact almost every time we go to...
Sorry :(
Sorry to anyone who just watched my video and there was a rap song with my ultrasound :( I’m trying to upload the video and youtube keeps flaking out. So frustrating. But a few of you probably got a good laugh!!
Looks like the video will have to wait until Sunday when I have time :(

Dear Friends, I have some great news!
After many years of writing songs and playing countless shows, I’ve been blessed with a lucky break. A new music project has been started of which i am so excited to tell you about…Next year i will be releasing my best album yet, which will feature some…
Brent’s music is so amazing and inspiring. His lyrics are like no...
Change is Good.
In honor of the new little little, I wanted to do something a little different with my hair. I haven’t had like REAL bangs since middle school! (Like totally) I’m digging the change. Change is good.
PS- I know my sister is going to make fun of me for taking a picture of myself :) That’s what sisters do.
Tres Jolie.
If you aren’t following Ms. Tres Jolie, then you should start! The best part about tumblr, for me, are by far the relationships I have established. A lot of these women are also going through the infertile struggle, and have been a major support system for me in this journey. Jolie has been a constant cheerleader in my journey and her posts always seem to make me smile. A few weeks ago...
Calling IVF mama's. I need you.
This is how I feel right now. I feel like Khloe does every time she rides in the car— more than anything, she wants out. She wants me to roll the window down so she can let her hair fly around and she can breath in the fresh air.
Friday marks 12 weeks. Friday is going to be the big jump to freedom from all the drugs I’ve been on for 2 years. I’m terrified, but I’m...
The Business of Being Born.
Google this, Netflix this, rent this, whatever you have to do to watch, The Business of Being Born. I was talking to my dear friend Melissa today about my birthing plan, or lack there of, and she encouraged me to watch this documentary. I just spent the past 1.5 hrs with my eyes wide open and mouth dropped to the floor. I feel inspired, I feel liberated, I feel in charge of my body and my...
Labyrinth.
Now that I’m expecting I am obsessed with pulling out old movies from my childhood; just to name a few: Goonies, Wizard of Oz, The Neverending Story…but most importanty LABYRINTH. In the past 3 months, I’ve probably watched it 4 times. I can’t wait to sit down and cuddle up with the little little and watch these movies.
Favorite character from Labyrinth is the worm, poor...
Booty Patrol.
I was walking around the neighborhood the other day and this little girl walks up to me and say’s, “I can’t believe I said you have a big butt.” Then giggles and walks away.
There I was, just standing there, with tears in my eyes. And all I could think about was how if my child ever said that to someone….oh boy…it would be a bad day for him/her.
Children are...
